I normally do not get any news of Trenton here in Edison so your email keeps Trenton alive for me. In the event you are nor aware, Trenton Young Judea Association has recently made considerable donations to the GTJCP. For the last few years we have contributed yearly to the GTJCP, our cost, in years past, for a landscaper to cut the grass on our cemetery on Pitman Avenue. The "Project" is a very worthy endeavor and we are happily committed to it. Morton Evans, President Albert (Boomey) Segal, Secretary/Treasurer Will Schafer Tue, Jan 9, 9:16 PM (11 hours ago) to me Hi Arthur, Happy happy new year, and wishing you and your family all the best for the year to come. Please tell Danny I say hello, I hope he remembers me from Sunday School at Har Sinai. Have to thank you again for all you do for this society! I believe my grand-parents had furniture/department stores in Trenton during the 1920’s and beyond. If you would like me to gather the info for you I can do so. Also, our family has many left over cemetery plots in the Har Sinai section of the Greenwood Cemetery, and while Im not sure if you are able to incorporate the availability of these cemetery plots to the people in the society, Im wondering if there is anyway you can advise me on how to reach people in our community who may be interested in buying them. Regards, Will Schafer • Kenneth Deitz • 10:27 AM (1 hour ago) to me Dietz Jewelers. Miller and Leavitt Hope you are well and Happy new year. I think you spelled the jeweler wrong. It should be Deitz Jewelers. He was at 691 South Broad Street. Morris Deitz was my grandfather. You mention Croydon mens clothes. I worked there in 1973. The owners were Bernard and Julian Goodstein. They could have bought it after 1929. They also had another brother who had a competing mens store. I don't remember the name, but they were an original tenant at Oxford Valley Mall. There also was Harry Brody Hardware, could have come in later. His son was Tal Brody, who was an NBA caliber basketball player from Iowa, was drafted, but opted to go to Israel and form their national team sports programs. I'm sure you know about him. On a side note, there was a convenience store at State and Willow (maybe Market?) that had a plaque on the wall saying Ernie Kovacs worked there when he was a teenager. All comments Paul Slack I worked at the Trent and Lincoln back in the 60s. At the Capital we had concerts. One of the shows that I worked there was James Brown. The Capital was a former opera house and was absolutely beautiful inside. Had a big second floor balcony and boxes on the side walls. I will never forget those days.
